planting new plants around . They are also building nipa huts for visitors to stay in for a night. It is just a simple one but can
accommodate people to stay a night or for a rest. They are still harvesting coconuts and other crops to sell. They are also
hosting retreats for all ages and promoting Dreamland that people can use for activities. They will be hosting the medical

Twinville and Friendship Road Churches of Christ

As the Twinville and Friendship Road churches began their Tutorial classes which started the 2nd week of June, they were busy welcoming students for the year 2019-2020.

They had their parents orientation and welcomed the pupils who were excited to begin their studies for this year.

Brother Danni and crew are busy with the outreach in Cupang, Marikina. They started their house church in that area. Through giving of physical blessings like giving of slippers, food and school supplies, the community around there is seeing Christ working in them. Many people are interested in having Bible studies and the Gospel has been shared with them. Please pray for this new church as they continue to grow in that part of Marikina.

The workers also attended the National Evangelism Workshop Seminar offered in Caloocan church to encourage those who are sharing God’s Word in different parts of the Philippines. It was inspiring to see all those who labor for the Lord!

There were seven people that were added to the Kingdom since March of this year. Please continue to pray for them as they grow in their walk with Christ.

Please pray for Brother Jonathan as he juggles ministry and taking care of his three girls and working part time to support the needs of his family. They started their tutorial classes this month. Teachers and students are excited to start the new school year.

Metro Manila Ministries also helped financially those who were hospitalized that are members of the church and a relative of Jonathan Faldas that suffered from brain meningitis.

The church is still thriving and has their worship and get together every week. Jonathan is still teaching the parents of the tutorial kids and visiting them as an outreach of the church. Please pray for the growth of the church and that the hearts of the people in that area will be touched.

Bro Jun and sis Chona have been busy at Dreamland. They have kids that they are teaching and adults too! With good outreach in the community, people are hearing the gospel and getting baptized through Christ. They host different events like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Camps overnight to strengthen relationship among brethren from different congregations. They are also planting not only coconut but different crops like pineapple, ginger, and some exotic fruits that are native to that area.In May some different congregations and individuals donated school supplies that they distributed to the children in the mountains. They are very grateful for the acts of kindness that they received and were shown the love ofChrist in every way. It is especially hard for resources to get there from the plains. Continue to pray for them and the ministry that Jun and Chona are doing.

Mission Trip Update

We got back home safe and sound by God’s grace.  Our team (Kingsley Family, Tanya Dressler, Katy Brooks and Carolynn Porterfield) came home at different times but it was fulfilling to do God’s will by showing love and care to the people around us in the Philippines. These were the  things we did:

  • Treated over 1000 patients through medical and dental missions in 4 different places in Manila, Batangas and Bohol
  • Taught Ladies Bible Studies in 5 congregations
  • Attended Family Day and taught the Ladies and Men and kids
  • Philip preached at 6 congregations during their Sunday worship
  • We did VBS and feeding programs in 2 different congregations
  • Distributed toys, school supplies, and clothes in 8 different locations as an outreach of the churches
  • Taught songs to the kids in 4 tutorial classes at different congregations.
  • Helped in giving groceries to fire victims

We thank God for the success of our mission in the Philippines. We also thank those who partnered with us through your financial donations, prayers, and all the things you sent that we gave away to those in need.

Twinville and Friendship Road Churches of Christ

The Twinville and Friendship Road Churches have been busy doing a lot of outreach to the community and beyond. They had their 12th year graduation of the Tutorial classes for ages 3 to 5 years old and also started their Vacation Bible School right after graduation. Through the new outreach in Cupang, Marikina, many people have been saved. They started a new church there in February and people have been responding to the gospel presented to them. A new brother in Christ, Lemar Mendiola, decided to wash his sins away in baptism. He has been faithfully attending the Bible study there since. They also recently gave dozens of slippers to those in need, especially the children there. The Cupang outreach is in a very poor neighborhood and they are happy to receive the many blessings given to them.

Please continue to pray for the churches and the outreaches that the churches are doing in the Marikina area. To God be the glory!

Sta. Lucia Church in East Ortigas, Pasig City is striving hard to be strong. Last year their preacher left for another opportunity of employment outside the Manila area. There are also members that left due to employment or changes in their family situation. They are struggling but continue to be strong in their faith and work for the Lord. Please pray for this church to grow in Christ as they face trials of many kinds.

Dreamland Ministries

The ministry in Dreamland is flourishing! They coordinate many retreats and camps there to strengthen the brethren in different churches. They recently held a couples camp, and preachers, singles, ladies and men’s retreats. Aside from that, they outreach to the community through tutorial programs, medical missions and Bible studies. Bro. Jun stays busy continuing the work there with his wife Chona. We thank them for their untiring service to the Lord in that part of the mountain.

The Twinville church of Christ and the people in the Marikina area were flooded on August 11, 2018 due to too much rain and  water from a dam was released causing a flash flood. The church at Twinville lost everything they had including the electronics like computer,  sound system, projector and fans.

With God’s leading, many people helped out and everything they lost was replaced. The church also extended a lot of help to the brethren there and people around the area who lost their things. They provided over a dozen beds for those who needed them and distributed rice, canned goods, water and basic items that they needed. Close to one thousand people have been helped on three different occasions by distribution of  food.  God is good and He provides! Thank you so much for all of you who gave financially and gave their services to comfort those who have been affected by the flood.

Please pray for Theresa Barrameda to grow spiritually in God. While waiting for their children in the Tutorial Classes, parents are being taught the Word of God. Another event is a get together with the youth. They climbed a mountaintop and had great fellowship that day to strengthen their walk of faith with each other and enjoy God’s creation! The church also helped with the door knocking campaign in Cubao church. They distributed leaflets and tracts to individuals in the neighborhood and those that want to study the Bible. Please pray for the effort that is going on in both churches as they outreach to the needy and the lost.

They also rebuilt another small building to be used as a chapel for worship or possibly for a tutorial center for kids. The kids have already started their preschool and are doing well.

Bro. Jun also organized an effort to help out with the flood victims in the Marikina area. They collected clothes, blankets, and other relief items that they distributed. They helped clean up the building in Twinville so that it can be used for worship. Bro. Jun and some other members of the church in Batangas also attended the National Evangelism Campaign that was held in CaloocanCity. He keeps himself busy. Please pray for his physical health as his wife Chona supports him in every way.

Twinville/Friendly Churches of Christ

Two Tutorial Centers in Marikina City started their programs in June. They are now busy teaching the students ages 3-4 writing, reading, arithmetic and Christian Values. Also, the parents started studying the Bible with Danni de Vera as they wait for their children to be dismissed. In June one soul obeyed the gospel and five more followed in August.  In June, they collected 1,000 notebooks and distributed them to 500 local students who can’t afford to buy school supplies. As they started their Share-A-Blessing program, they also started their visitations and home Bible studies and group studies, youth activities and also feeding programs. Please pray as they continue to nurture the new Christians, reach out to the lost and grow.

Calamba Church Report

The Calamba Church Tutorial Center started their preschool program in June with 17 kids enrolled. Brother Jonathan started also having Bible studies with the parents. The church also did their monthly feeding program feeding the children some nutritious food. Aside from doing this, Brother Jonathan has two more church outreaches on Sundays in Los Banos and Mayapa, Bangbang. They need preachers to grow churches in those areas. Please pray that God will provide preachers. The members there need help in growing them in faith.

 Payatas Outreach Report

Felipe and Clarita continue to outreach in the Payatas area through the help of Metro Manila Ministries and Sampaloc church of Christ. One of those taught was baptized this month! Praise God for another soul added. Sister Clarita started using some of the sewing machines that were donated by Metro Manila Ministries for livelihood programs. They also organized a medical mission in the Payatas area where their daughter Felita Lucena ( who is a doctor), treated kids and adults for their common diseases. Also, they started their early childhood program to outreach the children and they provided them uniforms to be used when they meet at the church. They are doing so much good in that area that people know where they are as they show the love of the Lord not only in their physical needs but spiritual needs as well.

Twinville Church Report

April and May:

Every year the Twinville church conducts summer school for children and youth. It was fun to teach the kids during summer break as the parents have time to see their kids learn about God. They also invited the parents to attend Bible studies and worship services.

Two souls decided to wash their sins away early in the month of May. Carla faithfully attended their home Bible study in the Balubad area and Nicholas was active in their youth activitiy and has been coming to the church since he was seven years old. God be praised when Danni baptized them for the forgiveness of their sins.

This month the Tutorial classes started both at Friendship Road and Twinville churches of Christ. As they continue to do mission work, they have seen so many studients in need of school supplies for the coming school year. There are so many students in their area that can’t afford to buy the basic school supplies so the church decided to collect them and distributed them before classes started. They collected one thousand notebooks for kindergarten to high school.

As they started their Tutorial Program (Preschool) classes which started on June 19th eighteen children were enrolled in Twinville church. The number of students decreased due to new regulations from Department of Education. They are praying for more outreach as they continue to be a part of the community in the Balubad and Twinville areas.marikina2

Calamba Church Report

Brother Jonathan is so busy as he is raising his three girls by himself and doing ministry work. He preaches  and travels to three congregations every Sunday. He also handles midweek service in Calamba church and teaches the parents of the students during the week. New Youth Ministry started this month as they outreach to youth in their area. Please keep Jonathan in your prayers as he continues his work and being a single parent.

Payatas Outreach Report

Felipe and Clarita continue to outreach in the Payatas area through the help of Metro Manila Ministries and Sampaloc church of Christ. They started their Early Learning School this month teaching children in that area about God and good morals. Sister Clarita is also busy teaching in the livelihood program for those who are willing to earn money to support their families. She conducts cooking classes and jewelry making and sewing. they also conducted medical mission with the help of their daughter Felita Lucena who is a pediatric doctor. . Brother Felipe started music classes at Sampaloc church and also busy with attending to the needs of the brethern and outreaching to the lost in that area.
