Cubao Church of Christ Update:

Vacation Bible School..

.The vacation Bible school was held in three different areas by Cubao and Marikina workers. The first one was in Twinville subdivision near at Balubad area and there are more than sixty kids attended and finished the one week VBS last May 2. Majority of the parents will enroll their kids on the coming school year for tutorial center for age 3 to 6 years old in this area.

May 5 to 9 was held in Friendly village and there are more than 20 kids attended the one week study. Parents enrolled their kids for tutorial center in this place.

In Cubao the VBS was held last May 12 to 16 and there are 30 kids attended from age 3 to 14 years old. The Cubao leaders with the encouragement of brother Danni decided to have tutorial center in this place this year. Sister Lilymae Montano will handle the class.

Baptism … One of the greatest blessings of a soul winner is to harvest the fruits of his labor. God blesses the Balubad mission last May 3 because there are seven souls decided to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins. These seven souls are regular attendees of Bible studies conducted by brother Danni together with the mission team (bro. Steve, bro. Mike, bro. Sammy and bro. Juan). Wawa River located at Montalban, Rizal. The brethren in Cubao and Marikina are rejoicing over these seven souls who repented.
 

Evangelism Campaign…The Marikina hosted the Metrowide door knocking campaign last May 10. Brethren from different congregations in Metro Manila held the Marikina Church to encourage people to study the Word of God. As results of campaign one soul were restored and 27 souls need to be followed up for Bible correspondence lesson. The leaders also held their monthly meeting after the campaign to discuss matters for the growth and unity among brethren around Metro Manila, and the upcoming activities.

Youth Overnight Prayer Meeting …
The first overnight prayer meeting of youth from Cubao, Marikina and Lagro was held last May 23. The youth devoted themselves in singing, prayer and studying the Word of God during the night and group discussions with some games after midnight. Brother Joel and Brother Christian lead the youth in overnight.

Gospel Meeting…

As part of the campaign to win more souls, the Cubao conducted Gospel meeting last May 29 to May 31. Planting the seeds at the heart of every man is needed in order for them to know the good news from God. Brothers Danni, Maurice, Jess and Joel are the lecturers during the three day gospel meeting.

Muntinlupa Church of Christ Update:

Dear Brethren,
Time flies fast when you are so busy and I hardly notice that it’s the end of the month of May, it has been another fruitful month in the work of the Lord.

The Muntinlupa ladies attended the recently concluded Ladies Retreat in Butuan City at Sunrise Christian College facilities. It was full of enriching activities for the ladies on both spiritual and physical aspect of life. They went there excited and came back full of joy and a lot stories to tell of their experiences. Six Ladies from Muntinlupa were able to attend the Ladies Retreat though a lot of them were planning to go to it, however due to financial constraint only six of them were able to attend. At Muntinlupa Congregation the children presented a song originally composed by the youth a tribute to mothers for the Mother’s Day,  The youth also have their open forum right after the midweek service, sharing their thoughts to each other see picture  Peter Cariaga a visitor from Oklahoma Christian University was with the youth, and spends 5 days with us, encouraging especially the youth to be strong in their faith.

The Daet Church of Christ in Bicol, Daet Camarines Norte invited us on their 22nd Annual Fellowship, we went there and spent 3 days seeing the place and fellowshipping with the Christians in Daet & Naga. Sarah & Fe shared their experiences in the Ladies Retreat in Butuan City and encourages the Ladies in Daet to try to attend such activities. It was an enriching experience seeing those Christians I have not seen for quite sometime, please see the pictures:  My family along with Peter Cariaga on the way to Daet, we made a stop over at the Quezon National Park the peak of the zigzag road going to Bicol, rested and had lunch then back on the road again. When we got to Daet, we also visited the family of an inmate Christian in New Bilibid prison who requested us to see his family in Libmanan which is about 80 km further south of Daet. Bro Cielos the inmate ask us to give a beautiful table sign and three letters to his dad in Libmanan and as you see in picture  his nephew Bunny holds the tables sign for his dad.  Bro Erwin and his coworker from Center point church of Christ in Baguio City visited the prison in NBP trying to see the possibility of promoting the WBS for the inmates, they drop by our place and have snack before going back home Michael our youngest son song leads in the fellowship at Daet  Charles Ray our second child reads the scripture and introduces the guest speaker the fellowship  Peter Cariaga speaks at the fellowship talks about the future of the church in our hands through the youth, and encourages the youth to be faithful in their service to the Lord  Sarah echoes the summary of the lessons from the Ladies Retreat and encourages them to attend the retreat  Daet ladies viewing some pictures of the ladies Retreat The youth rendering 3 songs, Charles, Peter, Sarah & Michael sang quartet some youth songs. the kids having lunch, they didn’t have a big place and the children uses the small chairs as table and sat on the floor while eating their lunch snack time Group picture taking at Daet Fellowship,Bro. Summer is over and next week is the start of the first semester in the Philippines.

Davao church of Christ Update:

Our month of April and May made us busy in the Lord’s church: The April 13 is our inter congregational fellowship that compose of five congregation of Davao city: Puan cong., Uyanguren cong., Panacan cong., Matina cong., and our cong. The Bucana.

The April 23-27: Nine of our ladies participate the 33rd National ladies retreat, hosted by the church of Christ Bonbon congregation sunrise college with the theme: ” Bloom and bear fruit.” Likewise of the men: four of us participate the 1st men’s retreat with the theme: ” Knowing where we stand.”

April 28-29: We the Davao participants of the said event, we directed to Camiguin Island and to meet the brethren at Cabuan congregation Camiguin, and experience the beautiful place that God created.

May 14-17, Our congregation conducted the vocation bible school (VBS). Age 3-9, there are 20 students; age 10-14, there are 20 students; and 15 above there are 22 students with the theme: Jesus gift box (focus on the parable).

May 17-18; 23-25, we’re having the sports fest activity with the theme: Harmonious Neous (harmony of the youth through the sports) it is our aim to provide our avenue for our young people to meet and develop their skills, building a strong relationship. The event includes basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, darts, word factory and sungka.

May 25 after worship, God add the one soul to His church through baptism, his name Reymark Allonar.

These are the activities in the Church of our local congregation for the month of April and May that made us busy… In Christ Cause.

De Castro Church of Christ Update:
Raj and I are both doing good. Rainy season started early here. We are actually experiencing two typhoons now. Time flies! Summer vacation is about to end and school days are fast approaching. I just realized its been months since my last correspondence to you. My apology.

Been busy with a lot of things (both my seculiar work and in the ministry). Hope Raj already shared to you some pictures of the work here in Cainta for the first half of the year.

Just want to share with you these pictures… more to come ’cause Raj will be sending soon his Shutterfly photo album.

The ministry at De Castro is doing good. I assumed you are receiving updates from time to time (either from Kuya John or Daddy or bro. Felipe).
